Hi! I’m Ilari. I’m in my second year on Magna’s board and currently serving as this term’s chairperson. I’m a fifth-year educational technology student, and English is my minor. So we’re making history! This is the first time Magna has a chairperson who’s a minor student! In my free time, I like playing all kinds of games. Whether it’s video games, board games, or card games, I’m usually always playing something.
As chairperson, my role is kind of like being the director of this circus. What people see on the outside is that I lead meetings and represent Magna in various places. Behind the scenes, I also handle a lot of ongoing tasks, like legal matters that come with running an association. In short, the chairperson’s job is to make sure the association stays together and functions well.

Vice Chairperson and Social Affairs Representative

Hii! I’m Faten, a second-year English teacher student and a second-year board member of Magna. This board term, I’m the Vice chairperson and Social Affairs Representative so more familiarly VPJ and sopo. In my free time, I enjoy doing lots of different things: spending time with my loved ones, attending various events, going to the gym and group fitness classes, reading books, writing down my thoughts and doing volunteer work. And of course, board-related stuff too!
As the vice chairperson, I primarily act as the right-hand person of our chairperson, Ilari, and I’m always ready to help other board members whenever needed. This term my tasks include scheduling our meetings and board hangouts, booking rooms and helping organize the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. As the Social Affairs Representative, I work together with our Academic Affairs Representative to look after the wellbeing of our members. This includes acting as Magna’s equality representative, ensuring that equality and fairness are upheld in all our activities.

Hi!
My name is Mari and I’m a fourth-year English language teacher student. My minor subjects are psychology and Swedish. I joined the board in the middle of last term, so this is my first full year on Magna’s board, and I work as a secretary. During my free time, I like to read, watch TV series, do puzzles, and go for walks.
As a secretary, my responsibility is to prepare the meeting minutes, write them during our meetings, and finally finalize them before sending them to Magna’s email list. In addition, I make an unofficial translation of the meeting minutes. I also moderate Magna’s email list, accept relevant messages, and add new members to the list.

Hi there!
I’m Kataja, and this is my third year on Magna’s board! This year I’m serving as the treasurer and the academic affairs representative. I’m currently in my fifth year of English teacher studies, and my elective courses include easy credits, special education, and education technology. In my free time, I do lots of different things with my dog Muusa, watch movies, and go to student events.
As the treasurer, my duties include paying Magna's bills, accounting, and monitoring our budget. I am also responsible for our membership registry. As the academic affairs representative, I look after the interests of students and participate in the development of teaching whenever possible.

Kristiina Saikkonen

Hiya! I’m Kristiina (but mostly I go by Krisse) and I’m a 4th-year English teacher student with minors in German and Swedish. This is my first year on Magna’s board, and I am one of the two event coordinators. In my free time, I like to do crafts, bake and cook and try to work on my Italian language skills.
As event coordinators, Oona and I plan and organise different events, contact possible collaborators about the events, manage the ticket sale on Kide.App and create all the ads posted elsewhere. In this role, you get to work together with other members of Magna’s board and of other student associations a lot!

I’m Oona and I’m a 4th year teacher student. I also study psychology and social studies as my minoring subjects. This is my first year on Magna’s board and I am one of the two event coordinators! In my free time I spend most of my time watching movies, listening to music, reading books, and I recently started drawing and painting again after a long break.
As event coordinators, together with Krisse we brainstorm, plan and organize different events for Magna Cartians. We also contact possible collaborators and are responsible for the ticket sales on KideApp. We are also responsible for the advertising of events and for creating the materials for said advertisements. We also get to collaborate with other student organizations and with other members of the board, especially the communications coordinators!

Karoliina Kokko
Corporational and Collaborational Coordinator and Lingviestit Representative

Hii! I’m Karoliina, a third-year language specialist student, and this is my first year on Magna’s board. In my free time I like to watch tv shows, knit, and try out new foods and recipes :)
I work as a Lingviestit Representative and as a Corporational and Collaborational Coordinator. As a Lingviestit Representative it is important to keep both the board of Lingviestit and the board of Magna up to date about what’s going on and this way I’m like a link between the two associations. The most important tasks therefore include being a messenger between the two assiciations and attending both associations’ meetings.
As a Corporational and Collaborational Coordinator, my main tasks are to renew the collaboration agreements and to try to get new collaborations. So basically, there is a lot of emailing.

Hi there! I’m Erica, a third-year language special student and this is my first year on Magna’s board! <3 I work as an international affairs coordinator and language specialist representative. During my free time, I like to listen to music, watch TV-series, and play video games.
As the international affairs coordinator, I keep in touch with the exchange students and introduce them to Magna Carta’s activities and events, inform and remind the members about internationalisation opportunities, and I also get to participate in committee meetings related to international affairs. As the language specialist representative, I keep our association members informed on language specialist related topics and collaborate with Kieliasiantuntijat ry.

Hi! I'm Sanni, a 3rd year teacher student. This is my first time on the board, and I applied because I like to try out new things! This year I have two responsibilities. Fresher coordinator and Merch and patch coordinator.
As fresher coordinator my job is to work together with tutors, organize the freshers party and coordinate things to do with the overalls. Mostly I just try to help freshers and tutors in any way I can :) As Merch and patch coordinator, I'm responsible for Magna's product sales and designs.

My name is Emma, and I’m a third-year language specialist student! This is my first year on Magna’s board, and during this term, I will work as one of Magna’s communications coordinators and as an alumni representative! In my free time, I love to go to the gym, and I just recently started a new dance hobby, which I’m super excited about!
As one of our communications coordinators, my main area of responsibility is Magna’s Instagram account, so I’m in charge of our communications on IG! We schedule every post in advance, after which it is my job to make sure that everything gets posted on Instagram on time! In addition, together with Victor, I’ll be taking care of Magna’s website!
As the alumni representative, my main responsibility is to be the link between Magna’s alumni and the board. I’ll make sure that the alumni are aware of our alumni activities and I’m also involved in organizing various events for them!

Hello! My name is Victor, and I’m a fifth-year teacher student. This is my first time on Magna’s board. My responsibilities include the role of communications coordinator and Magnan Kanta coordinator.
As one member of the communications duo, I’m in charge of everything related to our email communications and I also work on our website alongside Emma! As Magnan Kanta coordinator, I also make sure that our magazine gets done and is released on schedule.

Culture Representative and Development Cooperation and Environment Representative

Hii! My name is Salla and I’m a third-year language specialist student and this is my first year on Magna Carta’s board. My roles in the board this year are culture representative and environmental and developmental coordinator. In my free time I like to watch movies, read books, listen to music and bake <3
The role of a culture representative can be kind of versatile depending on your interests and timetable, and my job this year is to be in charge of Magna’s book club and possibly organize other small-scale culture-related events.
As the environmental and developmental coordinator, I take part in the committee meeting related to sustainability and report to Magna about anything noteworthy related to the environment or sustainability. In addition, my job is to make sure that Magna is as environmentally responsible as possible, and I can also organize events or include Magna as a part of environment/sustainability-related events.
