Helloo! My name is Essi and this year I am the chairperson of Magna’s board. This is my third term on Magna’s board and second term as chairperson. I am a fourth-year language specialist student. My minors are political science and computer science. In my free time, I enjoy attending events, reading, playing various games, and watching sports (live and on TV).

As chairperson I need to stay on top of everything happening in our association and make sure that the board and association run smoothly. As chairperson I also organize and lead our monthly board meetings, delegate tasks among the board members and help board members in their tasks.

Hi there! I’m Kataja, and this year I’m serving as the vice chairperson and the academic affairs representative. I’m currently in my fourth year of English teacher studies, and my elective courses include easy credits, special education, and computing education. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, bouldering, reading, and attending student events.

As the vice chairperson, my main role is to act as Essi’s right hand and assist other board members as needed. My goal for this term is to ensure everything on the board runs as smoothly as possible, so we can organize all kinds of fun things for you, our members. As academic affairs representative, I’m responsible for safeguarding students’ interests and ensuring their rights are upheld, as well as contributing to the development of teaching whenever possible. Helloo! I'm Heini, a sixth-year teacher student and this is my third year on Magna's board. When I'm not working on board duties, I like to do puzzles, play videogames and play board games with my friends.

My role is the secretary, and my main duties include writing the minutes of the meeting during board meetings, editing the minutes of the meeting and publishing it on the mailing list and Magna's website for the members to read. The secretary also moderates Magna's mailing list. I hope I'll see you on campus or in events! :)

Heyoo! I’m Venla and I’m in my sixth year of studying to be a language expert, with minors in communication and IT. This is my third year as Magna’s treasurer and second as a communications coordinator! In my free time I like to play all different types of games, work on approximately four different craft projects simultaneously, and watch my cat Sirpa chatter at magpies.

As the treasurer, I, for example, pay Magna’s bills, type all transactions into an accounting program, and ensure that we don’t go bankrupt. I’m also responsible for our membership register and, most importantly, buying the snacks for our meetings. As a communications coordinator I am mainly responsible for our Instagram. I make sure that all of our posts go out on time, are accessible, and fit the platform. I’m also currently developing our very own association magazine, Magnan Kanta, and I welcome everyone to come take part in this new venture!

Hi! My name is Ilari, and I'm in my fourth year of studies, majoring in education technology with English as my minor. In my free time, I spend a lot of time playing various games. Whether it's video games, board games, or card games, you can always count on me as a gaming buddy.

This year, I'm part of Magna's board for the first time, serving as the social affairs representative and communications coordinator. As the social affairs representative, or "sopo" for short, my role is to take care of the well-being of our student organization members, together with the academic affairs representative. This also includes acting as Magna’s equality representative, ensuring that equality and fairness are upheld within our organization. As a communications representative, my responsibilities include keeping members informed about current events. Since there are two of us handling communications, my specific focus is on Magna's email list and website. I also make sure that Magna's website is working. Hii! I’m Sara-Julia, a first year KiMo -student and a first year board member of Magna Carta. I’m an event coordinator along with two others. Our job is to come up with events, then plan and make it happen! So basically our jobs include e.g. booking spaces for the events, planning possible programs, budgeting and lots of cooperation with many people!

Aside from board stuff I like to do puzzles, watch series, go to uMove’s group classes and of course participate in events! See you there!

Hi everyone! I’m Faten, a first-year English teacher student and my first time on Magna Carta’s board. In my free time, I enjoy doing all sorts of things: spending time with my friends and family, attending various events, going to group fitness classes and the gym, reading books and participating in volunteer work. These days, I’m also busy with lots of tasks related to the board!

This board term, I’m one of our three event coordinators. As an event coordinator, our responsibilities include planning and organizing various events. Organizing events involves many tasks, such as booking venues, planning and executing potential programs, budgeting, collaborating and communicating with different parties, writing event descriptions and doing advertisements for social media and most importantly ensuring everything runs smoothly during the events and everyone gets to have a good time 😊 As an event coordinator, I want to create events where everyone feels safe and welcome!

Hi there! This is Anita, a last year student on the teacher line. In honour of my last year I will continue my duties as the representative for environmental and developmental coordination for half a year longer, while working as a connection to the board of JANO ry. In practice I will be making sure that Magna strives towards making green decisions as we further develop our association's activities, as well as notifying the board of JANO's business.

During my freetime I enjoy going on outings (unless it's cold out), and playing on my computer. I also frequent Magna's events, so if you manage to catch a glimpse of me in my iconic outfit, feel free to come and say hi. :)

Heya! I’m Nova and this year I’m in charge of culture in Magna Carta! I’m a fourth-year student on the teacher line and this is my second year in the board of Magna. My tasks include all kinds of cultural affairs, such as organizing possible museum or theater visits and setting up book club meetings. During my free time I love arts and crafts, writing and making music—you could say that I’m interested in culture aside from my tasks on the board as well! Cheers and culture :-)

Hiii! I’m Tuuli, I’m a second-year language specialist student. This is my first year on Magna’s board, and I’m acting as our business affairs representative.

As business affairs representative, I keep in touch with our current business partners and look for new opportunities. That means it’s my job to know all about our contracts with business partners and renew them when needed. If anyone has any great ideas about new business opportunities, feel free to tell me! In my free time I enjoy sports, poetry and spending time with friends!

Hellou! I am Miia, a third-year language specialist student and I'm on the board for the second year. In my free time, I do pole dancing, play too many video games, and watch TV shows with my cat

This year, I'm the board's Lingviestit and patch representative. As Lingviestit representative, I am in contact with our umbrella organisation Lingviestit and I will probably be working with them again on the overall order next autumn. I will continue as our badge manager and I'll take care of the storing, mailing and ordering of the badges when needed.

Hi! I'm Elli, a third year language specialist student. This is my first year in Magna's board. In my free time I enjoy taking naps and playing board games with my friends.

I'm in charge of three different areas in the board of 2025: sports, international affairs and freshers. As the sports representative I make sure that the sports shift runs weekly. I organize events that include sports, exercise and trying out different sports or just moving your body after all the studying. As teh international affairs coordinator I introduce Magna Carta to international students and welcome them to our events. And as the freshers coordinator I communicate with the new students and their tutors and relay the information from the board to them. In addition, I help the tutors in their task to make the new students feel welcome at the university.

Helloo! My name is Jenna and I am now a fifth year language specialist student! This year is my third year overall on the board of Magna Carta! This year I am the language specialist representative as well as the alumni representative. As a language specialist representative, I am in cooperation with Kieliasiantuntijat ry and aim to bring useful information, especially relating to working life, to our language specialist students. We have not had an alumni representative on the board of Magna Carta for years now, but this year we were able to revive the position! As the alumni representative, I serve as the link between our association and the alumni of Magna Carta. In this position, I will work on getting good communication channels open between our alumni and our association and then sharing information to them of our events they could join and of other community building opportunities.
